Nearly 140 migrants rescued from Canary waters

Nearly 140 people have been rescued from the waters of the Spanish archipelago of the Canary Islands in the past 24 hours, according to Maritime Rescue.

Of those rescued in total, 138 were 99 men, 25 women and 14 minors, the same source added.

The last sub-Saharan migrants rescued from the waters of that Spanish archipelago were 52 people, including five women, who were pulled from the waters about 74 kilometers from Arrecife, Lanzarote.

According to state-owned sources, the rescue center in Las Palmas received a warning from the Guardia Civil about this last ship at around 9 a.m. (Canary time), after mobilizing salvamar Al Nair who spotted the boat around 11 a.m.: 40. Migrants must arrive at 14 :09 arrive at the port of Arrecife.
