Mike Pence announces candidacy for the White House

Former Vice President of the United States of America, Mike Pence, formalized his candidacy for the 2024 US presidential election on Monday.

The number two in the Donald Trump administration will now challenge the former leader of the Republican campaign for the seat for the elections that will take place in November 2024.

Mike Pence delivered his documents to the US Federal Election Commission on Monday and will present his candidacy in an act broadcast on television scheduled for 9:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday (01:00 a.m. on Thursday in Portugal).

The 63-year-old Republican candidate was, between 2017 and 2021, Vice President of the United States, when power was in the hands of Donald Trump.

The relationship between the two did not end in the best way, when Mike Pence, until then a Trump loyalist, rejected the former president’s demands that the 2020 elections be annulled, based on his role in the Senate. The case resulted in Trump supporters storming the US Capitol and Pence has since been viewed as a traitor.

Now, the two will be running for the Republican nomination for the 2024 presidential election.
