Taiwan’s Defense Ministry denounced on Sunday that another 24 Chinese fighter jets, accompanied by four boats, were making a new approach to the airspace and that the fighters were crossing the safety line.
Taiwanese forces, as happened on other occasions, closely monitored the maneuver that took place in the southwest and southeast of the island, and activated CAP aircraft, naval vessels and land-based missile systems to respond to these activities, the ministry said published on the social network Twitter.
ROC Armed Forces have been closely monitoring the situation with our ISR system and have deployed CAP aircraft, naval vessels and land-based missile systems in response.

The new escalation of tensions in the region began with the trip to the island by then Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi in August.
The situation worsened following Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing Wen’s visit to the US, where she met with several US congressmen, despite warnings from Beijing.
Taiwan has had an independent government since 1949, but China considers the area to be its sovereignty.
The Chinese government’s fundamental policy towards Taiwan has been one of peaceful reunification under the principle of “one country, two systems”.
