In Slovakia, a dog behind the wheel was filmed speeding

Slovak police shared a photo from a speed camera that had flagged a vehicle… with a dog at the wheel.

There are radar photos that are more original than others. And this one deserves to be at the top of the ranking of the most unusual photographs.

A dog at the wheel

Slovak police recently shared a photo of a speeding vehicle in the western city of Senice, with the surprise discovery of a dog at the wheel. A Facebook post discovered by Franceinfo, in which the authorities give some details about this strange criminal.

An unretouched photo, the Slovak police first claim, adding that the officers “could not believe their eyes” when they saw the scene.

Although you can’t really see him in the photo, there was apparently a “human” driver in the driver’s seat with his dog sitting on his lap.

The 31-year-old motorist had to explain the intriguing circumstances of this speeding: he said his dog “suddenly jumped on his lap.” A version denied by the police, who were able to consult the video surveillance images and claim to have not noticed “any sudden movement” in the cabin.

Rules to follow when transporting an animal

Slovak police officers end their message with precautionary advice when transporting animals in a vehicle, but the article does not say what penalty this driver will receive.

In France, the dog must be on a leash, in a transport cage or in the trunk during the trip. The idea is to guarantee his safety in the event of an accident, like any other human passenger or pet, and that he cannot hinder the driver in his maneuvers.
