Full of gasoline that costs 6.60 euros less than a year: fuel prices have been at the lowest for 4 years in July

The prices in the unleashed pump of diesel and without lead 95-E10 are shown at a historically low level in July, good news for motorists who go on vacation.

Pump prices are shown at historically low levels. This is the particular case for the two most consumed fuels in France, Diesel and Unknown 95-E10, respectively to 1,6279 and 1,6694 euros per liter on average in France in July, according to the official statements of the transition of the Ministry of Energy.

A significant economy in a full

This represents a fall of almost 8 cents for a year for diesel and just over 13 cents for the SP95-E10 compared to July 2024.

In a full of 50 liters of diesel, we went from an invoice to 85.35 euros last year, to 81.4 euros in July 2025, or almost 4 euros less.

In gasoline, the economy is a bit larger, with the same 50 liters that goes from 90.1 euros to 83.47 euros, or 6.63 euros less.

If fuel prices are subject to significant variations, especially in recent years, it is necessary to return to 2021 to find a lower level for diesel and gasoline in France during a month of July.

For a more recent period and, as we can see in the previous interactive curve, prices had plunged from spring, with an apartment reached in mid-April with diesel to 1,5281 euros per liter and a SP95-E10 to 1,6326 euros per liter.

Towards low prices at the beginning of the school year?

These low prices in the pump could last, especially with the context in the oil market:

“The producing and exporting countries, the OPEC countries, have announced in recent days that they still wanted to increase their oil production in August, to obtain market share in particular in American producers,” said Arnaud Aymé, a transport specialist at SIA Partners, in BFMTV.

Another element, an still interrupted international context, which tends to reduce demand and, therefore, oil prices:

“In addition to the uncertainties about global growth, with the commercial war that has not ended between the United States and the rest of the world. And the last point, traditionally in summer there is more oil consumption, especially among the Americans who go on vacation, in autumn, this consumption falls,” continues this specialist.
