Inflation does not take vacations. Although most foods have experienced strong price increases in recent months, the phenomenon has not escaped the star products of the summer season.
The mozzarella, in front of the sausage
This is particularly the case for mozzarella, which in the France Bleu basket with Nielsen IQ, has seen its price increase by 29.5% in one year. This is the largest increase in this index, ahead of sausage, which rose 22.4%.
Increases that are explained by the rise in the costs of raw materials, energy and transport, underlines a cheesemaker interviewed by BFMTV.
The rest of the products especially affected by inflation this summer: fruits and vegetables, merguez sausages or even certain beers. Merchandise whose consumption usually jumps in summer and whose prices have increased by an average of 15%, just like the rest of the food.
Waiting for the start of the school year
Enough to plan in a little less than two months, with the expected increase in other seasonal products: school supplies with the traditional shopping lists at the start of the school year in September.
