The government wants to encourage French SMEs to export more: an “export plan” will be presented at the end of August, the Delegate Minister for Foreign Trade and Attractiveness, Olivier Becht, said Tuesday evening in BFM business.
France now has some 148,000 exporting companies, but “this is still insufficient compared to our neighbours”, in particular Italy and Germany, he said. The executive wants to reach 200,000 companies in 2030.

The objective of this new plan is “to ensure that SMEs have an export reflex”, assured the minister, evoking a “state of mind” that must be given to companies “that have the capacity to go out and export”.
