TAP posted a profit of EUR 22.9 million in the first half of this year, after having recorded a loss of EUR 202.1 million in the same period last year, the Portuguese airline announced today.
This is the airline’s first time “positive results in the first six months of a year, since its half-yearly results are published (2019),” TAP said in a statement.
In the first six months of this year, TAP’s net result represents “an improvement of 225 million euros” compared to the same half of last year, an advancement in the released note.
In addition, it mentions that the positive net result of 22.9 million euros, achieved in the first half of this year, represents an increase of 134.9 million euros compared to 2019, post-pandemic period of covid-19.
TAP believes that the good result is based on the “strong growth in operating income”, which amounted to 1.9 billion euros, with a “relevant increase” of 600 million euros (+44.3%) compared to the same period in 2022.
“This growth is proof of TAP’s balanced approach in exploiting market opportunities,” the Portuguese airline justifies.
