Gonfreville Refinery: the CGT renews the strike again

The union announces that the movement will last until October 27.

The Totalenergies refinery at Gonfreville in Normandy remains on strike. The CGT announces this Thursday that the movement was renewed until October 27.

“The strike is renewed until October 27”, the day on which TotalEnergies must announce its results for the third quarter, “unless the management contacts us beforehand,” said Ludovic Desplanches, elected by the CGT, at the end of a general assembly in the middle of the day.

Remember that the strike continues despite the signing of a wage increase agreement signed with two major unions, the CFDT and the CFE-CGC.

But the CGT closed the door on the discussions, dissatisfied with the employer’s proposal after almost three weeks of strike: a global “envelope” of 7% salary increase, including a 5% general increase plus an individual quota that can vary from person to person. .

Two more sites on strike

To date, only the employees of the Totalenergies refineries in Feyzin (Rhône) and Gonfreville (Seine-Maritime) have decided to continue their strike, stopping the movement in the other sites.

The mobilization initiated by the CGT on September 27 caused major difficulties in the supply of fuel, exasperating individuals and professionals in the face of often dry service stations.

At 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, one in five service stations (20.3%) was experiencing supply difficulties in at least one fuel (compared to 24.8% on Tuesday), with situations still tense in Burgundy-Franche-Comté ( 33.1%). Ile-de-France (30.5%) and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (29.4%).
