The deputies approved a massive resurgence of the Nuclear on Wednesday by adopting a key article of a bill on France’s future energy, whose examination must continue until Friday.
An Alator amendment of the text was adopted, Antoine Armand (Renaissance), with the votes, in particular of the national demonstration. He restored this key article on Nuclear, which had been eliminated in the confusion in the committee.
France today has an installed capacity to produce nuclear nuclear origin of 63 gigawatts.
The text, in which a solemn vote has been scheduled for Wednesday, plans to increase this capacity in 27 additional gigawatts “by 2050”.
For this, the construction of at least 10 gigawatts of new capacities, which is the equivalent of six EPR2 nuclear reactors, must “commit to the latest in 2026”. And that of 13 additional gigawatts, or 8 EPR2, will be hired “to the last in 2030”.
The Government, which has an EPR2 construction program announced in 2022 by Emmanuel Macron, was defended by a slightly different amendment, the Minister of Industry, Marc Ferracci, explained to prefer to repel the decision on the eight additional reactors at 2026.
Decree “Before the end of summer”
“The colossal sums that you want to invest in this energy of the past (…), is all the money that we do not invest in the energy of the future, that is, renewable energies,” the attached rebel Anne Stambach-Foreair has insurmted.
The PS had proposed to start the construction of 8 reactors by 2035, with additional objectives returned later. A “sweep” commitment by the rapporter, lamented deputy PS Karim Benbrahim.
This bill of Senator Daniel Gremillet, already adopted in the first reading in the upper chamber, must inspire the decree set by the country’s energy route until 2035. It must put the country on the path of carbon neutrality in 2050.
The national concentration had obtained, threatening to censor the government, that the subject will be discussed in the assembly before the publication of the decree.
However, the Government wants to publish this decree “before the end of summer,” said Marc Ferracci, therefore, before the end of parliamentary transport of the text, to allow “launching investments.”
