Tens of thousands of threatened jobs, “whole sectors will rule out”, if a moratorium on renewable energy financing would be decided, because there are many industrial jobs associated with wind and photovoltaic, stressed the Minister of Industry on Tuesday, Marc Ferracci in CNEWS and Europe 1.
Their comments come the day the Senate must examine the Senator’s bill Les Républicins Daniel Gremillet (Vosges) that divides the macronista field and the right from the head of Republicans Bruno Retailleau, a Government member, begged for the end of the “public subsidies” by wind and photovolteans. “I observe that he (Bruno Retailleau, a note of the editor) defended the wind turbines in the past when he was president of the General Council of Vendée,” said Marc Ferracci, remembering that he had recently been in Vendée “to visit a wind field in the sea”: “I can tell him that there are industrial works associated with eólicas mobs.”
Evoking the factories of Cherbourg, Saint-Nazaire, or in Le Havre, where the components of the wind turbines are manufactured and/or gathered, the minister argued the “8,000 jobs” of the only sector of wind turbines in the sea.
Electrify uses
Without pronouncing the word climate, the minister wanted the end of the “religious war” between nuclear and renewable. Notably stressed the theme of “energy sovereignty” of wind and photovoltaic. “Today, we need to electrify our uses to depend less on gas and oil: 60% of our energy consumption, is imported gas and oil, is 70 billion euros in deficit in our commercial balance and depends on Russia,” in particular, he said.
“The issue is decarbonized electricity against fossil energy. What I want is that we get out of gas dependence and oil we import,” he said.
