The exceptional back-to-school bonus is part of the measures taken by the government in favor of purchasing power for the start of the 2022 school year, in a context of high inflation.
This exceptional solidarity aid (AES) known as the “bonus back to school” should offer a breath of fresh air to low-income households at a time when the government announces substantial increases in energy prices.
• Who will touch it?
This aid constituted exceptionally for the year 2022 is intended for beneficiaries of social minimums such as active solidarity income (RSA), the subsidy for adults with disabilities (AAH) or the solidarity subsidy for the elderly (Aspa), beneficiaries of housing aid ( APL, ALF, ALS).
10.8 million households are affected according to the government.
• How many?
It is 100 euros, plus 50 euros per dependent child.
• How to play it?
If you meet the requirements, the payment will be made automatically by the organization that your social minimums depend on, without any action on your part. For example, if you receive the RSA or APL, the payment will be made by your family allowance fund. If you are looking for a job, Pôle Emploi will pay you the bonus.
• And for others?
People who receive the activity bonus are also entitled to it: the amount of their aid will be 28 euros, to which 14 euros per dependent child are added. This payment will be made in mid-November.
This activity bond benefited from a revaluation of 4%.
These measures are part of the “purchasing power” package adopted at the beginning of August by Parliament, initially with 20 billion euros in spending (including in particular the 4% increase in retirement pensions and various allowances), then a budget rectified for 2022 (PLFR) that opens 44,000 million euros in credits.
Remember that this exceptional back to school bonus has nothing to do with Back to School Allowance (ARS)paid in two stages in August and granted, subject to resources, to families with at least one school child between 6 and 18 years old.
