Tariff shield, buffer, price cap at 280 euros per megawatt hour… Given the rise in prices, just over 30% of the 800,000 VSE and eligible SMEs have completed the certificate that allows them to benefit from one of the aids with the payment of electricity bills
A level that may seem quite low. But according to Bercy, which received energy providers on Friday, half of the companies would already benefit from reasonable prices and therefore would not need a support device.
Also, many VSEs and SMEs have not yet received their January invoice. However, if upon receiving it during the month of February they realize that the amount to be paid has increased significantly, they can still fill out the famous certificate, the energy marketers having committed to take it into account with retroactive effect to January 1.
One certificate for three devices
Upon completion of the certificate, a VSE or SME can benefit from one of three existing devices (tariff shield, price cap at 280 per megawatt hour, and electricity buffer). It is the provider who, upon receiving information from his client, will define what assistance he is eligible for.
The State will already make a cash advance to suppliers so that they can guarantee the difference between the ceiling price and the price paid by eligible companies. The global amount of the boost is estimated at 500 million euros, 60% of the amount being covered by the State, the rest by the suppliers themselves. Finally, for VSEs for which this would not be enough, the State undertakes to examine the files on a case-by-case basis.
