Why do you describe yourself as a responsible digital gamer?
This notion of a responsible digital actor is found in our businesses and in the genesis of these businesses. Econocom began its activity with the reconditioning of computer equipment. Our DNA thus carries a notion of sustainability.. In addition, at that time, the purchase/resale was not done for the sake of the circular economy, but for material shortage. 50 years ago, users turned to refurbishing, because you could wait a long time for a new IBM machine!
How has the Econocom group resisted in the face of the pandemic?
Everything went well during these three years of Covid, even if it was sporty for our clients. The Econocom Group was able to stay afloat thanks to their three professions, which have found a lot of meaning during the covid period. We were able to keep the activity of hospitals and schools intervening on the site, in particular thanks to the digital service.
Our support has also been invaluable for companies and the main French administrations: they were not prepared for the arrival of teleworking. For this reason, Econocom teams have multiplied to meet the needs of our customers.
One of his ambitions is to reduce the carbon footprint of digital. As ?
80% of the digital carbon footprint comes from the manufacturing of the asset. As Econocom, we don’t make equipment: we buy it, sell it, maintain it, and recondition it. We can act on our scale on the remaining 20%, that is on the sustainability and use of these assets.
Econocom is helping to reduce this carbon footprint by giving equipment a second life, or even a third life. We also support our clients with extremely impactful, pragmatic and easy offers, to help them measure and reduce their carbon footprint.
Since its inception, Econocom has been based on a notion of corporate culture. How did you adjust to him?
Like all corporate culture, it is once in the field, and upon finding it, that we understand this entrepreneurial culture. I would almost define myself as a fugitive from the big French and international groups, in which there are shackles. The meeting with Econocom was special, because I found there a space for expression and action..
This company allows all employees to take an initiative and see it through to the end. Econocom can, for example, support them in a very simple way, from the start of a project to the creation of a company. Thus we participated in the creation of a joint venture with a CAC 40 group.
