Despite weeks of debate, the vote on pension reform remains uncertain. Although the mixed joint commission should enable the search for a compromise text between the two chambers, the executive does not have an absolute majority for its bill to be approved in the National Assembly. This revives the specter of 49.3 for the text to be adopted.
On the eve of a new day of mobilization, the general secretary of the CGT Philippe Martinez spoke on our antenna about this possible resource of the Government to approve its reform.
“It is not a mark of democracy”
“I don’t think it’s a mark of democracy,” added the union representative, who also denounced the use of article 47-1 of the Constitution to speed up the debate on the text in Parliament.
The government spokesman, Olivier Véran, reaffirmed on Sunday that the Executive does not want to use article 49.3 of the Constitution for the National Assembly to approve its pension reform project.
