“The world of work is currently going through a great ecological and social transition”

[ CONTENU PARTENAIRE ] Meeting with Séverine Douard, Director of Vocational Training and Director of Business Services of the CFA (Apprentice Training Center) of the Audencia management school.

The democratization of teleworking has had the effect of accelerating the digital transformation of companies In this new context, what are the consequences on training needs?

Different training needs have emerged strongly in the last two years. In particular, they refer to technology, but also to new forms of management in a context in which teleworking has come into force in companies. This second area is at the heart of the missions of the CFSE department (Career Training and Business Services) within Audencia. It is clear that the world of work, like society as a whole, is currently undergoing a major ecological and social transition. Audencia supports companies in developing the skills and talents of their human capital in the face of current transformation challenges.

Specifically, how does it fulfill this mission, in particular to increase the employability of students?

We distinguish two cases: people in initial training, therefore students, and employees already in the position. The former are accompanied by our “Career Center” to understand all the dimensions related to remote management, but also what will contribute to their personal development. We place, in particular, a strong emphasis on your professional project to lead you to determine the nature of your desires and your needs.

And for those who are already in the position?

We have introduced the different management methods in all our Continuous Training courses for the company’s employees, but also all the topics related to the ecological and social transition, for example, we have created an “Executive Master Chief Value Officer” to train in managing the overall performance of the company and implementing a strategic and international vision of sustainable finance. Today, the value of a company is no longer correlated solely with purely financial data. It is also linked to data and action plans in the ecological and social transition areas of the organization.

Precisely today, employees affirm strong values and are searching for meaning. We see this in particular through the phenomenon of the Great Resignation. How can companies respond to these new demands?

Since 2018, the number of apprentices has doubled in France. This move is supported by bac+3 and bac+5 training. Without a doubt, apprenticeship training can help companies to face these challenges. They will allow the integration of young people and will facilitate employer/student understanding throughout the duration of the training. In Audencia, these also aim to create and maintain links. In this way, the generations will be able to understand each other better. Directors and managers will thus be able to understand the needs expressed today by young people entering the labor market.

To offer a transversal look at these issues, Audencia announced the creation of the Gaïa school in 2021. What exactly is its function?

The Gaïa school is that of ecological and social transition. It is intended for all Audencia students. Eventually, passing through the latter will be mandatory. Gaïa is also open to continuous training, therefore, to the company’s employees. The modules offered are both face-to-face and remote.
