Emmanuel Macron said this Sunday in an interview with the newspaper Opinion that he tried to carry out a policy of lower taxation of the middle classes, in order to better remunerate the work.
“However, today we help many people who are in disarray, who have unsubscribed. after the painful pension crisis.
But the taxation of the income of the middle classes is too high and it is accelerating too fast. Crushes purchasing power gains between 1500 and 2500 euros. I’m talking about those who are too rich to be helped and not rich enough to live well,” he said.
He added that during his first five-year term, taxes were cut by 52 billion euros, equally for households and businesses. “When you look at the period 2010-2014, the tax increases were made almost all in the middle classes and small businesses,” he said again.
On the business side, he believes that France should equip itself with “a mechanism to improve industrial jobs or artisans and merchants.”
Very unpopular after the forced adoption of the pension reform, Emmanuel Macron has embarked since last week on an economic sequence, focused on reindustrialization, with the announcement of several investments, in particular in Hauts-de-France.
