Trevor Noah surprised many people a few weeks ago when he announced he would be resign as a guest of the program of the day after seven years. And after breaking the big news, people probably have a number of questions. For starters, who will replace him as a longtime talk show host? In addition to the uncertainties surrounding the series directly, there is also the question of what awaits Noah. The political expert has now shed light on what he intends to do once his term is over.
Trevor Noah revealed his departure during the program of the dayEpisode of 29 September. During the monologue, the presenter expressed his gratitude for being able to hold the position for so long and also reflected on the many things he had experienced during his tenure. At the time, Noah indicated that he was looking forward to trying new things once his time on the show was over. He elaborated on this during a recent appearance on Tonight’s show with Jimmy Fallon . Noah began by saying that he wanted to “do it all”, before detailing his plans for him:
I am so excited to do it all. I couldn’t travel that far, stand up [comedy] Around the world. I am happy to do it. I went to a country and stayed there for weeks. I would learn the parts of the language, I would learn the culture, I would do a show based on that. I will do it again. Produce, you know? I work right behind the camera. Working on different ideas, you understand? Come home, spend more time with your family in South Africa. This is all I will do.
It seems the 38-year-old comedian has already set a number of goals for the future. While his time on the Comedy Central chat show wasn’t as long as his predecessors, it’s understandable why he would have been willing to leave. As he told Jimmy Fallon, “the show is tough” because it takes a lot of hard work and collaboration to get a show like his him ready to air. All in all, it looks like the outgoing guest is eagerly awaiting their next chapter and leaving of their own free will. (Apparently this last point is in contradiction what Megyn Kelly said about leaving .)
Trevor’s big news Noah would do it ruffled some feathers in the wings , However. According to a report, only a few members of the crew knew Noah was leaving the show and announced it during a recording. And allegedly, he revealed his departure to a group of people in the studio audience before even discussing it with several of his peers. However, Noah’s comments on his future plans are in line with the recent report, as the star is reportedly looking forward to getting back on his feet.
Meanwhile, Comedy Central has yet to reveal who will replace the expert once he steps down. But the rumors suggest the program of the day have a potential candidate , and you are done with the program. Roy Wood Jr., who has served as the series correspondent for the past seven years, would be one of the top candidates for the job. While this is far from confirmed, Wood would be a logical choice. Hiring him would make sense because he’s definitely talented. Also, hiring it would help maintain a sense of continuity, creatively.
Trevor Noah’s latest episode will air Thursday, December 8, so fans still have time before the new era of the series begins. Noah seems excited to do more exciting things with his team before they split up, and hopefully this is an indication that he will end things on a high note.
the program of the day airs new episodes on weekdays at 11 p.m. ET as part of the TV program 2022 and you can also stream them with a Paramount + subscription .
