The crazy chosen ones of the series. Parliament did not approve his last amendment. France TV reveals this Tuesday that a season 3 is being filmed since yesterday and that filming will take place until December 12 between Strasbourg and Brussels. The broadcast date has not been announced.
Released in 2020 on the France TV Slash platform, Parliament follows the misadventures of Samy (Xavier Lacaille), a young parliamentary assistant who arrives at the European Parliament without much knowledge of his duties.
A synopsis of this third salvo has been revealed: “Samy has climbed the hierarchical ladder of Parliament to become a political adviser and weaves the perfect love with Rose, who is destined for a (dangerous) career as a freelance journalist. As for Michel, he sees his term as president coming to an end. With German pressure to take over the presidency mounting, Martin wants to protect his French friend. Samy’s daily life is shaken by the return of Valentine, who expect him to become the new French commissioner…”
New season, new explorations
Casting a young novice within the European institutions, series creator Noé Debré delivers a satirical backroom comedy that has been critically acclaimed since its debut. With his third season he wants to deal with “the dreaded issue of cynicism in politics”, as he explains in a statement:
“Samy has done his apprenticeship, he has matured and he realizes that those who respect the rules do not always win. The good guys are not always rewarded and the bad guys are rarely punished.”
“We want to go up a level in the description of the mysteries of the Union”, he adds. “It will tell the background of the clashes between institutions, the legal and administrative battles between the Commission and Parliament, and the political low blows that accompany them, of course.”
The cast will remain unchanged: Xavier Lacaille will return to star Liz Kingsman (Rose), Philippe Duquesne (Michel), William Nadylam (Eamon), Georgia Scalliet (Valentine) and Lucas Englander (Torsten).
