“We all have a good reason to go to the movies.” This is the slogan of the new mobilization campaign to attract the public to the dark rooms, launched this Wednesday by the National Center for Cinema (CNC), the National Federation of French Cinemas and the Ministry of Culture.
On this occasion, an advertising spot of about forty seconds has just been released on social networks. The CNC lists five good reasons to return to the cinema: “Because of a lot of emotion”, “To occupy the children”, “To see all the films (and talk about it)”, “To fish” and “To laugh and cry in Darkness”.
According to the Minister of Culture, Rima Abdul-Malak, “this campaign will last a month”: “it is not just a commercial, but a mobilization of all, which we hope will be as broad as possible”, she explains in the parisian. “It’s about rediscovering the unique thrill of the big screen, as opposed to watching a movie at home, even in a home theater.”
The launch of this campaign comes in a difficult context for cinemas. Despite a very varied offer in theaters and the success of films such as November Where simoneMovie attendance just experienced its worst September in 40 years, excluding the pandemic, with just 7.38 million admissions recorded for the month.
