‘If you could stop, that would be fine with me’: Jul warns fans about dangerous TikTok trend

After a strange trend appeared on TikTok, rapper Jul asks his fans not to put themselves in danger.

“It’s nice, but I think it’s dangerous.” In a message posted on his Instagram account, rapper Jul warns his 4.2 million subscribers against a strange trend that has appeared on TikTok. This “tendency” consists of making with your fingers the famous sign of Jul’s hobby, a J,… on fire.

“Just to tell you that I saw the trend you’re doing on TikTok… it’s cute but I think it’s a little dangerous for you! (sic)”, writes the rapper on the social network.

“If you could stop that, that would help me! (sic),” he adds, saying that he is “moved” that his fans think of him.

dozens of videos

On TikTok, a social network with almost 15 million users, especially used by young people, dozens of videos of teenagers lighting their fingers with a candle and deodorant, perfume or hairspray have been published in recent days. All in a 2016 song by the artist, Live from periscope.

Some of them have been viewed several hundred thousand times. Some accounts that are at the origin of this trend also recommend not following their example, after having been burned.

“If you can spread the word you will calm me down,” Jul concludes in his message Team Jul a vida a muerte (sic).”

It seems that this trend is inspired by the cover of one of Jul’s albums, Free album vol. 2published in 2016 and on whose cover we can see his famous poster, with his fingers on fire.
