Elizabeth II: Kate and William react to the Queen’s death

The sovereign’s grandson and his wife posted a message on their Instagram account in tribute to the late queen.

Kate and William paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday after her death at the age of 96. A sober and simple tribute, away from the splendor of Buckingham Palace, with a simple black and white photograph, where the sovereign poses pensively.

Prince William, number two in the line of succession to Elizabeth II, arrived in the afternoon with several members of the royal family at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where the 96-year-old queen was resting after several difficult weeks.

Meanwhile, William’s wife, Kate, remained in Windsor, where their three children, George, Charlotte and Louis, were spending their first full day at their new school.

Prince Harry, who lives in California, took the address from Scotland, but his wife Meghan stayed in London, where the couple was to participate in a ceremony. William’s brother has not yet reacted to the death of his grandmother.
