However, his future with the franchise seems somewhat uncertain now that James Gunn and Peter Safran are overseeing things at DC Studios. There have been a lot of rumors lately that this iteration of Krypton’s Last Son won’t be returning. In between those reports, Gunn answered a question about Supes’ future at the film company, as well as Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern, if he had any questions about the latter.
Last week, a lengthy report claimed that James Gunn and co. are making big changes at DC Studios, like cancel Patty Jenkins wonder woman 3 . In the story, it was also stated that the defendant Man of Steel tracking is no longer under development. Gunn referred to the alleged rearrangements , claiming that some details were true, others were not, while other hypotheses were only half true or not yet decided. While the director couldn’t go into detail on this, he did provide a fairly simple answer when a fan asked if audiences would see some kind of Superman on the big screen in the future:

However, James Gunn was a little more entertaining when it came to the subject of Ryan Reynolds’ Hal Jordan. Under the same thread, another fan asked if Reynolds’ “almighty” character would return, star Gunn will issue a funny answer:

I mean, are we surprised by this? Same Ryan Reynolds himself slammed the 2011 critical superhero film. On social media, the Guardians of the Galaxy alum also shot at speculation that Reynolds would reprise the role in a production directed by Zack Snyder. It goes without saying that the odds of seeing more Superman seem much higher than the odds of getting more GL.
