from Netflix Wednesday it’s pretty much the hottest thing in pop culture right now. The show remains one of the most watched things on the streaming service, and a second season of the Jenna Ortega-led series has finally been confirmed. But what really took the internet by storm was a mix of dancing Jenna Ortega and the music of Lady Gaga that now has fans hoping the singer might appear in season two. It turns out that there is already a connection between Gaga and Ortega that would make such an appearance all the more fitting.
Talk with The variety Ahead of the Golden Globes, Jenna Ortega revealed that she once worked with a hairstylist who also did Lady Gaga’s hair. Ortega and Gaga were joined by the “Born This Way” singer, whom Ortega had seen before her at a concert. This led to Ortega receiving a personalized video from Lady Gaga herself.
So we know that Wednesday is a fan of Lady Gaga, and we also know that Lady Gaga is a fan of Wednesday. The viral fan trend of recreating Jenna Ortega’s dance on the show remixed with Gaga’s new song “Bloody Mary” peaked recently when Gaga herself launched a TikTok which showed her dancing herself. Obviously, these two have to be together.
But if Lady Gaga appeared Wednesday Season 2, who could you play? It turns out that Jenna Ortega has at least the beginning of an idea for it. However, she likened a potential relationship between Wednesday and a Lady Gaga character to one she Wednesday had with Christina Ricci’s character in Season 1, without the obvious downside. Wednesday could use a new mentor figure in Season 2, and Gaga could be perfect. Ortega said…
If Lady Gaga were to be part of it, it would have to be two monsters who understand each other.
Honestly, it looks pretty close to perfect. We could possibly see Lady Gaga replace Gwendolyn Christie’s character as head of Nevermore Academy in Season 2. This relationship was difficult and adversarial, so making Gaga’s character an ally would change things a bit.
According to Ortega, he has no idea what awaits him Wednesday Season 2, and she thinks the writers room is just starting to come together. The good news is that this means nothing is set in stone and creating a character for Lady Gaga is entirely possible.
The only downside is that since the writers are just starting the second season, it will be a while before we actually see it. Netflix subscribers will need to find other shows to keep them busy for a while.
