Brendan Fraser is in the midst of his resurgence and much of the public couldn’t be happier to see him flourish. His heartbreaking performance in The whale It recently earned him a Critics Choice Award and he’s already buzzing at the Oscars. While doing press for the film, he also reflected on his career, including his stint as an action star in The Mummy movie. During an interview, the George of the Jungle The star has revealed that she has never worked with Dwayne Johnson the mummy returnshowever, it apparently helped him learn a new kind of acting.
Brendan Fraser was a guest of The Drew Barrymore Showduring which he spoke with the main presenter of the Mummy franchise and more. The film series has become a classic over the years and has attracted viewers of all ages. Fans No Doubt Remember Dwayne Johnson’s Fight With Fraser’s Rick O’Connell As The Scorpion King the mummy returns, which was the former wrestler’s acting debut. Interestingly, Fraser revealed that he never played as The Rock in the film because during scenes the character of him was digitally added to the film using CGI. frazer said:
It turns out I’m really good at it [acting against a tennis ball]. Do you know why? Because in The Mummy Returns, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was just a piece of duct tape on a stick.
It’s a shame these two action stars never acted together. Both have incredible charisma and shine on the big screen. Maybe the two could finally star in a movie together in the future. Personally, I’m still looking for another episode in the OG. Mummy franchise and considering how the technology has evolved since the last film (released in 2008), such a film would be spectacular and would also work with a great script. If we’ve learned anything in the last few years, it’s that it’s never too late for a sequel, and I think people would love to see this duo again.
Although Brendan Fraser didn’t work directly with his co-star, the fictional Dwayne Johnson has accustomed him to performing with a non-living stage partner. Many modern action/fantasy movies use CGI to create characters that would be difficult to create in practice. This presents challenges for the actors, who often have to play with inanimate objects in a green screen environment. Marvel veteran Mark Ruffalo commented on how “dehumanizing” the process can be at times.
