Creed III’s Jonathan Majors worked hard to play a bodybuilder and ate an unbelievable amount of calories in the process.

Although much of the attention currently paid to Jonathan Majors is on his debut as Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Maniathat’s not the only way the actor is shining on the cinematic front as 2023 begins. With belief III opening in early March, last weekend saw his next film Dream magazine premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Dream magazine sees Majors play a toxic, obsessed bodybuilder, and as well as working hard to get the right physique for the role, he also had to eat an unbelievable amount of calories.

Jonathan Majors opened up about his fitness and diet Dream magazine while speaking with The Variety at Sundance. To start, Majors talked about the hours of exercise that helped with his physical transformation, and also touched on all the food he ate:

The normal bodybuilder exercises twice a day. I play Killian Maddox… I play him, dammit. What happened was I was practicing for two hours, twice a day for the movie and a third time after it was over. During this time, you eat six times a day. lots of chicken lots of moose. It’s just for me. Love you.

Thus, in addition to having to spend most of his days Dream magazine Acting on camera, Jonathan Majors also had to spend a significant portion of his time working out and eating all that food. By the way, Majors talking about all the chicken he ate reminds Hugh Jackman that he did the same thing when he needed to get into Wolverine form. Continuing to eat, Majors had to eat more than 6,000 calories of food each day for more than a quarter of the year to maintain good shape. As he said:

I am 6 feet tall. Weight 202 lbs. To maintain it and grow, you need to eat as much protein as you weigh. I ate 6,100 calories a day for about four months. This included work before and after “Creed III”.

The benefit of such a strict diet and strenuous exercise is the ripped physique that was shown in the former Dream magazine look released last December. The downside is that work for this film, as well as belief III Yup Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania, caused the majors to lose their fries and also faced “a lot of isolation” during 18 months of training. With those three movies out of the way, Majors doesn’t maintain the same fitness pace he’s been asked to, but he still works out “once a day” and enjoys activities like walking and running.

If it is difficult to say when the public will be able to see Dream magazineSundance’s enthusiasm for the film was largely positive, giving Jonathan Majors his Travis Bickle moment. During, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania opens February 17, followed by belief III on March 3, as part of the new 2023 theatrical release slate.
