Second Marie-Claire Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Berrell, was among those who said he was hurt by memories of Prince Harry. He explained that something was “bothering” him “intensely” about the book, saying:
I was really angry, really angry [by] the fact that he called me “the butler”, “Mother’s butler”. Well, Mum’s butler was called Paul, Harry, and you knew me, all your life you knew me as Paul.
The former butler worked for Queen Elizabeth before working with Princess Diana for a decade, until her death in 1997. Berrell went on to explain that while working for the family, the Duke of Sussex never called on a butler and he did not. . I don’t understand the sudden change. He said:
He had never known me as “the butler” so why was there a sudden change recently, a change to being called the butler? Suddenly this smug prince deems me useless because he says my telltale book said nothing.
