It’s no secret that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an absolutely massive place, filled with stories on the big and small screens. But a few properties stand out as fan favorites, including Ryan Coogler’s. black Panther. The film also featured some surprise cameos, including an appearance by Michael B. Jordan like Killmonger. Michael B. Jordan’s performance as Killmonger in the former black Panther has been universally acclaimed and is one of the favorite villains throughout the shared universe. The fans were hoping to see him come back to wakanda forever, which occurred through an Ancestral Plane encounter with Letitia Wright’s Shuri. Now that the movie has been out for a few months, you can talk freely about the scene as it appears The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon . He mentioned the secrecy involved in his black Panther comes back saying:
It’s hard, you know? I think this time, because we lost our brother, Chadwick. Rest in peace Chadwick Boseman. And it was so heavy and I was just trying to make it, you know? And Ryan Coogler had a huge task ahead of him to develop the script and story in a way that would still honor Chadwick but also move the franchise forward. So to get back he had to keep it a secret. I had to grow my hair out and put the highlights back and stuff like that. And you know, I travel a lot of places, so I have to wear a hat, a hoodie, play in private, which isn’t bad at all. But being able to keep the secret was really difficult.
It looks nice. The MCU is known for its strong security Yup Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was no exception. And so the process of bring back a character who is already dead like Killmonger comes with many threads. And that includes countless eyes looking at Michael B. Jordan, as well as the look of him. After all, Killmonger has a signature hairstyle that he had to recreate.
Michael B. Jordan’s comments to Jimmy Fallon help shed some light on what it’s like to work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It should be fascinating to see if Killmonger makes an appearance in the third black Panther movie. In Wakanda culture, no one is ever truly gone. And it certainly seems like the Ancestral plan could be the macguffin to ensure another Michael B. Jordan return. We’ll have to wait and see how it plays out.
