Ventura had already announced his intention to censor the government again during the new legislature on July 17, at the end of an audience with the president of the republic.
The Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of the Republic stipulate that the debate on the motion “begins on the third parliamentary day after the tabling of the motion of censure, it cannot exceed three days and the agenda has as its only item the debate on the motion of censure. motion of censure”.
Questioned by Lusa, Chega’s consultancy has not yet reported on what date the party plans to formalize this motion. However, the party will not be able to table the draft resolution until the 15th, the date on which the second parliamentary term begins.
After confirming these results next Friday, the Conference of Leaders will have to meet again to schedule the debate, which should take place next week, probably on Wednesday the 20th, the date for which it is scheduled. cuts.
The Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of the Republic stipulate that if a motion of censure is not passed, its signatories cannot introduce a new one during the same legislature.
At the beginning of the first legislature of this legislature, Chega has already submitted a motion of censure to the government, which was rejected in July last year with votes against by PS, PCP, BE, PAN and Livre and abstentions by PSD and Liberal. Initiative.
