Elisabeth Borne denounced this Wednesday before the Senate “unacceptable and deeply shocking scenes” on Saturday during the demonstration near a site of a disputed agricultural reservoir in Sainte-Soline in Deux-Sèvres.
“If the majority of the demonstrators were peaceful, several hundred violent ones attacked the gendarmes who guarded the place. (…) They are unacceptable and deeply shocking scenes. (…) Justice will be served and I can assure you, there will be no impunity for these perpetrators of violence”, said the Prime Minister during questions to the government.
