A69: Bruno Retailleau wants a “balance” between development and the environment

During a press conference this Saturday, April 12, Interior Minister Bruno Retilleau welcomed the State that the State requested the cancellation of the environmental authorization of site A69.

Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau in motion, this Saturday, April 12, at the Tarn, welcomed the State that the State requested the cancellation of the environmental authorization of site A69, supplying a “balance” between development and the environment for such projects.

In its judgment of February 27, the Administrative Court of Toulouse canceled the environmental authorization issued by the State, believing that there was no imperative reason for the important public interest (RIIPM) to justify the environmental attacks caused by site A69.

“Today we know how to marry the environment and development, we do not have to choose one against the other,” said the minister in front of the press, believing that “we must be able to find the right balance.”

“We are careful not to be degraded,” Bruno Retailleau urged, also in the campaign for the presidency of the Les Republicines party. Because “if tomorrow in France, we can no longer carry out any place, if all projects are blocked, then the purchasing power, the standard of living, will collapse,” he said.

Essential communication networks for the economy

“The Southwest neighborhood is undoubtedly one of the most coastal in France,” added Bruno Retilleau. However, “communication networks are for the economy what the arteries is for a human body,” he argued, believing that with this judicial decision, “we lose opportunities for economic development, agility, competitiveness” that local actors “need.”

“If we block the projects in a particular infrastructure tomorrow, our economy will be blocked,” he insisted after meeting the entrepreneurs of TAN affected by the interruption of the road that was to link Toulouse to Castres at the end of 2025.

The State announced on March 24 that it had appealed the judgment of February 27 of the Administrative Court of Toulouse after having arrested the work of the A69, while joining an additional suspended application.

This procedure tool must allow, if the Administrative Court of Appeal is granted, suspend the effects of the Court’s decision and, therefore, resume work suspended for more than a month. The formal examination of this suspended request could take place shortly after mid -May.

In addition to the appeals before the administrative courts, the elected officials opened a parliamentary path, through a bill, also praised on Saturday by Bruno Retailleau, in an attempt to resume the site as quickly as possible. This bill must be examined on May 15 in the Senate, according to the agenda of the Decree of the upper House on Wednesday, in early June at the National Assembly, Hope elected officials.
