Former socialist minister Bernard Cazeneuve reiterated, in an interview with La Tribune on Sunday, April 13, an appeal to the concentration of social democrats, an “emergency”, despite the small enthusiasm awakened for his proposal to merge his movement, the convention, with that of Raphaël Glucksmann.
“I work with the country’s concern in mind and I gladly approach me. Everyone takes their responsibilities. For me, the demonstration is not an argument of a tribune, it is an emergency,” told the Sunday newspaper.
The former Interior Minister, who left the PS three years ago, had called at the end of March the fusion of the convention with the public place. But his call had continued to be a dead letter.
Bernard Cazeneuve believes that to win against the national demonstration during the next electoral deadlines, the left will have to “gather beyond its camp”, in a clear line of rupture with the rebels that he sees as “populists” and “Dep Westers”.

“We must qualify the populists, extreme right or extreme left, such as: Descriptors. In addition, there are, among them, convergences about the relationship that will remain in the rule of law, the question of the destination of Ukraine, the membership of Europe, the preference of commercial barricades,” he said.
“Jean-Luc Mélenchon had written a book ten years ago that was called ‘that everyone leaves!’ It is time for its maxim to apply to itself because it has managed to depreciate the entire left, accentuating the risk of changing from the country to the RN, “he added.
Too many applications?
While his former socialist comrades are in the campaign to choose a new first secretary and Emmanuel Macron’s allies measures for 2027, Bernard Cazeneuve punishes selfish positions.
“There is a multiplication of applications that for many are not incarnations from the USA. But the enchantments of I. and it is worth in the presidential field as to the left. My deep conviction is that the French now aspire to the sincerity of convictions, the clarity of the proposals and credibility of the incarnations.”
