“It’s infamous.” Nicolas Sarkozy’s lawyer, Patrice Spinosi Deplora BFMTV this Monday, June 16, that the former head of state is excluded from the Legion of Honor. A decision that occurs after its final conviction for corruption in the case of listening.
The lawyer defends a “specificity”, even if the exclusion of the Legion of Honor is automatic when one of its holders is definitely convicted of a crime or receives a prison sentence equal to or greater than a firm year:
“It was because he was president of the Republic that we defended the idea that there was a peculiarity in his situation that justified that the president of the current republic, who is the great teacher of the order, could appreciate whether Nicolas Sarkozy should be fallen from his legion of honor.”
