Insumise France prohibits their summer universities for journalists in the co -author of the book “La Mute”

The investigation of the book “La Loute”, co-written by Charlotte Belaïch and Olivier Pérou, recounts the internal functioning of the Jean-Luc Mélenchon movement. To justify his rejection, LFI indicated that “the principles that govern freedom of information are accompanied by ethical rules” that have been “breached.” The director of the newspaper Daily, meanwhile, said “his strongest protest.”

The France Insoumise (LFI) refused to prove the journalist of the world Olivier Pérou, co -author of the book “La Mute” for his summer universities in the internal functioning of the movement, said the newspaper this Thursday, August 21, denouncing an “obstacle to freedom of the press.”

“We create the strongest protest against this obstacle characterized by freedom of the press and access to information,” writes the director of the Daily, Jérôme Fenoglio, in an online publication on his site.

Summer universities LFI take place from August 21 to 24 in Valence (Drôme). In the world, Olivier Pérou follows the left parties, with Sandrine Cassini.

According to Jérôme Fenoglio, “no training, whatever his political advantage, had so far pronounced such an eviction measure” against a world journalist “on the occasion of such an event.”

LFI evokes “fluid ethical rules”

In a reaction transmitted to AFP for its press service, LFI replied that “the principles that govern freedom of information accompany ethical rules (respect for contradictory, protection of privacy, rigor, multiple sources).”

“These were largely breached in the work that Mr. Pérou dedicated to the rebel France,” the movement continued, accusing the journalist of having “very defamed” and having “invented false information” in his internal life.

“Contrary to what indicates the management of the world, this does not prevent this magazine from being represented for our summer universities. The world’s editorial staff is welcome to cover this event,” LFI concluded.

“We will not commit ourselves to our freedom”

“We do not commit ourselves to our freedom to choose our journalists to cover sections or events, which is an integral part of our editorial independence,” insists on its part Jérôme Fenoglio, greeting “the seriousness and professionalism of Olivier Pérou and Sandrine Cassini.”

Requested by AFP, the World Writers Society (SRM) judged the decision of LFI “unworthy” and contrary to “press freedom.” “This is a rather serious precedent,” said journalist Isabelle Mandraud, vice president of the SRM.

Published at the beginning of May, “La Meute” was scheduled by Charlotte Belaïch (Liberation) and Olivier Pérou. This survey book describes a totally organized training around the personality of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, where intimidation and threats are common. During the publication, LFI had rejected the book statements as a whole.
