Pension reform: Emmanuel Macron will respond to inter-union letter

The union organizations mobilized against the reform sent a letter to the Head of State, requesting to meet with him “in the urgency of this moment, and the seriousness of its consequences.”

Emmanuel Macron will respond to the inter-union letter on pension reform, BFMTV learned from concordant sources. Precisely this Thursday, the eight main unions and five youth organizations have sent a letter to the Head of State, which they accuse of turning a deaf ear to the mobilization against this text.

The unions have asked, since the massive mobilization on Tuesday, to be received at the Élysée Palace by Emmanuel Macron, considering that his silence “constitutes a serious democratic problem” and could lead “inevitably to a situation that could become explosive”.

“Everybody knows it’s their reform”

A guest of BFMTV-RMC this Friday, the general secretary of the CGT Philippe Martinez assured that the president had not actually responded to this call. “I heard several ministers say that it was not up to him to do it” and “it is a problem” because “everyone knows that it is his reform”, he replied.

The representatives of 13 union organizations and student federations that make up this inter-union recall in their letter that “all union organizations” demand “the withdrawal” of the government’s text.

At the end of the joint joint commission (CMP) scheduled for Wednesday, Elisabeth Borne has the vote of the Republicans in the Assembly to approve the reform without having to use 49.3 (approval of a text without a vote). But the evocation of this hypothesis became more and more insistent.
