A “question platform”. This Wednesday, while the mixed commission validated the text of the pension reform, the Socialist Party launched an online platform that allows the French to send a tweet or an email to their deputy to dissuade him from voting in favor of the reform in the Assembly on Thursday.
“The Socialist Party calls on the Gaullists and defenders of the legacy of the National Resistance Council to oppose this regression text,” the party said in a statement.
prewritten templates
Like the insubordinate France on Monday, which also encouraged the sending of letters to parliamentarians, the PS has pre-written templates for interpellation messages.
“Do not betray your history”, “Our retirement is in your hands” or even “We are counting on you”, can be read in these models that the party makes available.
As of 6:00 p.m. this Wednesday, the PS platform was not available online, while the LFI platform was still available. Please note that member email addresses are available on a self-service basis at national assembly website.
The creation of platforms to question deputies is not new in France. During the Marriage for All debates in 2012 and 2013, the right had already launched such websites to ask left-wing MPs to vote against the bill.
