Ricardo Horta was dismissed from the national team, which is preparing for the double round of the qualifying phase for Euro 2024. The player of Sp. Braga was “declared unavailable by the Health and Performance Unit”, as reported today by the Portuguese Football Federation, causing him to leave the internship.
The Portuguese International had a test this morning, which showed that it was “impossible to recover for any match” of the team led by Roberto Martínez – on Friday against Slovakia and on Monday against Bosnia-Herzegovina – and therefore he was dismissed.
Horta is the second player on the initial list to be released due to physical problems, after Raphaël Guerreiro, who has not played a game in the Martínez era. As with Bayern Munich’s left back, the striker’s spot will also remain unoccupied, as the original squad consisted of 26 players.
According to the FPF, Roberto Martínez will have 24 players ready for the two matches. This afternoon there will be a new training in Cidade do Futebol at 6 p.m.
