Futebol Clube Porto guarantees that it will identify the fans involved in the attacks at the extraordinary General Assembly (AG), this Monday night.
“The management of FC Porto will use the means at its disposal to identify those responsible for the physical attacks and will mobilize the remaining social bodies with a view to opening a disciplinary file,” guarantees the club in a statement published this Tuesday in the official website of the club.
The dragons regret the lack of respect that, they say, “is reprehensible and tarnishes a centuries-old history of democratic culture.”
The attacks between members that occurred during the intervention of a member of the statutes review commission and after the participation of an associate ended up forcing those responsible to suspend the GA, resuming work on November 20.
“The management of FC Porto will do everything possible to help the board of the General Assembly to guarantee maximum security conditions at the meeting next Monday,” the club assures.
On a positive note, FC Porto highlights that “a much larger number of members participated in this assembly than usual, which is a sign of the vitality of FC Porto and its associative dimension.”
Everything was prepared for the GA to take place in the Auditorium of the Estádio do Dragão, with capacity for almost 400 people, but the large attendance of members forced the organization to move the work to the Dragão Arena, where the attacks occurred.
