France, holder of the title, qualified this Sunday for the quarterfinals of the 2022 World Cup, beating Poland 3-1, in the third match of the ‘eighth’, in Doha.
Olivier Giroud, in minute 44, isolating himself as the blues’ top scorer, and a ‘double’ from Kylian Mbappé, who scored five goals in the competition, scoring at 74 and 90+1, sealed the victory for the Gauls, for the ninth time in the ‘top 8’, while Robert Lewandowski scored a penalty for the Poles, at 90+9.
In the quarterfinals, France, world champions in 1998 and 2018, will face on Saturday, at 7:00 p.m. (in Lisbon), at the Al Bayt stadium, in Al Khor, the winner of today’s clash between England, winner of the test in 1966 and Senegal.
