Netflix announced on Tuesday that it had gained an additional 2.4 million subscribers during the third quarter, a result that far exceeded its forecasts and a victory for the streaming veteran who had lost almost 1.2 million between January and June.
Its stock jumped 14% during electronic trading after the close of the New York Stock Exchange.
“The recipe is to please our members”
Now he is betting on 227.6 million total subscribers by the end of the year.
Netflix will launch a new cheaper monthly subscription in November, but with advertising, to attract new consumers and earn additional income.
