“A pilot crashed near our house.” The call that surprised ‘911’

A recording of a 911 call was released in the United States on Friday in which a home owner reported that the pilot of a US Marine Corps F-35 fighter jet had made an emergency landing. shot from a fighter jet that was reported missing in South Carolina last Sunday.

“I think we have a pilot in place,” the homeowner told the operator. ‘He was thrown from the plane. I think it landed in my backyard and we were trying to see if we could get an ambulance to the house.”

“I’m sorry, what happened?” responded, perplexed, to the 911 operator who answered the unexpected call.

The pilot was parachuted to safety in a neighborhood in North Charleston, South Carolina, on Sunday after ejecting from the roughly $80 million plane, which continued flying for more than 60 miles in a “zombie state.”

The wreckage was located Monday after authorities asked the public to help find the missing jet.

After the owner spoke to the operator, the pilot picked up the phone himself and tried to explain the situation. “I’m a military plane pilot and I was parachuted to the ground. Can you please send an ambulance?”

The operator did not seem to understand that he was talking to the pilot himself. “Where did he fall?” He asked. “I was at 2,000 feet,” the pilot said. “Okay, so what caused the fall?” the operator asked. “A malfunction of the plane,” replied the pilot, who also said he was “not sure where the plane was” and asked if a plane crash had been reported. “I haven’t seen any news about this yet,” the operator said.

The wreckage of the F-35 was found in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, northeast of Joint Base Charleston, where the aircraft took off on a routine training flight.
