At least 17 people died in new bombings on Zaporizhia, the Ukrainian authorities announced this Sunday, three days after a previous attack already caused the death of at least 17 people in this same Ukrainian city.
“After a night missile attack in Zaporizhia … 17 people were killed,” according to an initial report, Anatoliy Kourtev, secretary of the city council, said on his Telegram account.
The strikes hit houses and multi-story apartment buildings, he said.
17 dead already on Thursday in Zaporizhia
Already on Thursday, at least 17 people, including a child, had died after the attacks that occurred at dawn in southern Ukraine. 21 people were rescued, 12 of whom were hospitalized.
Sunday’s attacks come a day after a major explosion, blamed by Moscow on a truck bomb, on the Crimean Bridge, a key and symbolic infrastructure linking Russia to the peninsula annexed in 2014 to Ukraine’s detriment.
