A man armed with a knife killed a teacher and injured two others at a secondary school in Arras, France, this Friday, according to the AFP agency. According to a police source, a teacher and a security guard were among those seriously injured.
“A police operation was carried out at the Lyceum Gambetta, in Arras. The perpetrator was arrested by the police,” wrote Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
According to information from a French police source, the attacker shouted “Allah Akbar” [Deus é grande] during the attack.
The Elysee Palace has already announced that President Emmanuel Macron is on his way there.
