More than 200 trucks with some three thousand tons of goods to help the population remain positioned along Egypt’s border with the Gaza Strip, humanitarian aid agents confirmed this Friday.
Satellite photos analyzed by the Associated Press agency show a long convoy of trucks stationed next to the pass, waiting for authorization to enter the territory.
The shipments were intended to provide some aid to the Palestinian population of Gaza, but are being blocked by Israel, in response to the attack carried out by Hamas militants on October 7 in several cities in southern Israel.
Many people in Gaza are desperately waiting for help after having to reduce their diet to one meal a day and running out of water to drink.
It is not yet confirmed whether fuel trucks will be allowed to enter the territory to supply hospital generators.
The access roads from the border with Egypt began to be repaired today by local workers, after several damages caused by Israeli bombings.
According to the latest information, the Egyptian authorities plan to open the crossing to the Gaza Strip on Saturday.
