In Lisbon, climate justice activists from the Climaximo movement are protesting at the Galp headquarters, trying to block the entrance to the building. Three elements literally stuck to the doors of the company, others hold banners against capitalism and the increase in the cost of living. THE TSFMariana Rodrigues, from Climáximo, explains that the aim of the protest is “to denounce the crimes of Galp”, a company that, at the moment, “profits from rising prices”.
The four-day week was the subject of debate in the TSF Forum. The government is still studying the matter, but for some workers in the private sector it is already a reality. The issue, however, is not agreed upon. Unions and employers have differing views on the idea of shortening the work week.
In Brazil, the first debate between Bolsonaro and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who are contesting the second round of the elections, was marked by attacks and accusations of fake news, corruption and mismanagement of the pandemic.
Fuel prices have risen again. It is the biggest increase in the last six weeks. Those who have already filled the tank this Monday paid about 11.5 cents more per liter of diesel compared to the previous week. The liter of gasoline, in turn, began to cost another seven cents.
Finally, the districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo and Braga are under a yellow warning due to the forecast of rain. The forecasts of the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere point to rains, “sometimes heavy, and occasionally accompanied by electrical storms.”
