The battle for the city of Kherson, Ukraine is coming soon. The warning was made in the last hours by the Russian deputy administrator of the region. In a message posted on the Telegram social network, Kiril Stremousov recommends that civilians leave the Kherson region.
Russian citizens in the area have started receiving messages on their mobile phones asking them to leave the city and some are even being evacuated. The Russian city administration has banned civilians from entering Kherson for the next seven days.
Russia estimates that between 50,000 and 60,000 civilians will be evacuated in the next six days. The population will be transferred to the other bank of the Dnipro River.
The new commander of Russian troops in Ukraine says the situation is tense and the battle for Kherson is imminent.
