A gunman killed two people Monday morning at a high school in Saint Louis, Missouri, in the central United States, before being shot and killed by police, local police said. An adult woman and a girl were killed and several people were injured, St. Louis Police Chief Mike Sack said.
An endemic scourge
The agents, who went to the scene after an emergency call, exchanged shots with the assailant, who was injured and died of his injuries, according to the same source. “The suspect appears to be in his 20s” and his identity has yet to be definitively established, Mike Sack said.
Shootings, especially in schools, are a scourge in America. In May, a teenager killed 19 schoolchildren and two teachers at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. On Monday, an American teenager who last year killed four students at his Michigan high school with a gun given to him by his parents pleaded guilty.
