After his defeat, there are still no public statements by Jair Bolsonaro
After his defeat against Lula, the outgoing president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, remains locked in silence.
On Sunday night, he made no public statement after the official results were announced, leaving his supporters in doubt. Therefore, he still hasn’t officially conceded defeat to him. The Brazilian presidency limited itself to indicating at 10 pm that the outgoing president had “went up to his room” and “had gone to sleep.”
He hasn’t spoken since, though it’s now past 10:30 am in Brazil.
The day after his victory, Lula says he is “firm, strong and passionate”
In a tweet posted on Monday, Brazil’s president-elect Lula once again praised his victory on Sunday against far-right President Bolsonaro. He won with 50.9% of the votes.
“They thought they had finished my political career. That they had destroyed me. But here I am again. Firm, strong and passionate. There is nothing that can make me faint. Hello and good week to all,” said who has already led the country from 2003 to 2011.
