“Can you pee with a tampon?”, “How many tampons does a woman use during her period?”… In videos posted on TikTok, a woman poses as a journalist or TV presenter and interviews men on the street .
With humor, however, he learns of a serious matter. The goal: to show that men know little about women’s health, their bodies and the problems that result from it, and thus push women to the polls during the midterm elections in the United States.
Buffer “One” by rules
“How many tampons does a woman use during her period?” the woman asks in one of her videos, which has nearly 10 million views. “One? Two? I think one honestly,” replied a questioned man.
“I think it needs to be removed. I saw the little tampon containers in the toilet, that’s probably why,” another man replies confidently when asked if it’s possible to urinate with a tampon.
When asked if pregnant women can go swimming, another replied: “I don’t think so, but you can stick your feet in knee-deep water and you’ll be fine.”
“Don’t let men’s brains take precedence over women’s”
If the videos can make you smile, their author wants to show that it is these same men who make the decisions that concern them. The TikTokeuse asks each man she has questioned if he is registered to vote in the partial exams. They all answer in the affirmative.
She also concludes each of her TikToks with the same message: “Don’t let men’s brains beat women’s in the next election. Vote on November 8.”
His TikTok account is also called “Roe vs Bros”, in reference to the Roe vs Wade court ruling that guaranteed the right to abortion in the United States at the federal level and that was canceled last May by the United States Supreme Court. As for the “Bros”, it corresponds to the men (short for “brothers”).
