Moldova recorded “massive power cuts across the country” on Tuesday after Russian military strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure brought down a key power cable that supplies the country, an official said.

“This has led to massive power cuts across the country,” he said.

Spinu noted that the downed power lines “were not damaged, but were turned off automatically as a safety precaution.”

According to the minister, the Moldelectrica supply company is working to restore the electricity and Moldovan citizens will be kept informed of the situation.
